You Won’t Want to Miss!
It’s time for the bi-annual meeting of the glamorous and well-connected. AWNYFW (Autumn-Winter New York Fashion Week). In a few short days designers will premiere collections they’ve been toiling over. The glitterati will populate the painstakingly arranged front row, and those of us who don’t want to drop a whole paycheck on a ticket, can catch a plethora of free or affordable events!
Small Boutique Fashion Week
Price: $31 – $108
Enter Small Boutique Fashion Week (SBFW). 3 different shows are held in 1 day at the same venue (the Metropolitan Pavilion) featuring custom made clothing from independent designers. If you’re just in it for the clothes and the art of it all, and on a budget, this might be perfect for you. For tickets visit SBFW.

Femme Fatale Fashion Show
Inspired by their Liberian and Surinamese background, designers Stacy Filé and Melody Asherman design clothing that “makes women feel confident, sophisticated and fabulous.” Not only are the clothes beautiful, but so are their contributions. A portion of their proceeds will be donated for Lupus research! What’s not to love about this event?

2/13/16: Folley Gallery, 8pm – 10pm
SERENE x BANDIER
SERENE, a curator of wellness and conscious living has partnered with apparel brand, Bandier, to create a lounge for NYFW. The event features morning and evening yoga classes, holistic practitioners, Meditation, Reiki, an apothecary by Sun Potion, juices on tap from Butcher’s daughter, and more. Triumph Hotels Pop-Up
Looking to spoil yourself a little? Get a complimentary makeup and manicure application courtesy of Triumph Hotels and PRIV (a makeup application service). This is a first come first serve event, but don’t worry there will plenty opportunities.

Held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation Center, ftl MODA will have one of the most killer runways! ftl MODA is known for highlighting models that you wouldn’t regularly see on the runway, like Shaholly Ayers who wears a prosthetic arm and Madeline Stuart who was born with Down syndrome. Not only do they have fierce models but this year they are showcasing an equally fierce designer, Josefa Da Silva, winner of the best fashion designer in Cape Verde 2013. For Tickets visit ftl MODA.
