CBGB is Back From the Dead

CBGB is Back…..
And Opening a Restaurant in Newark Airport

It’s a sad time in music history in more ways than one. When we first got the news that the legendary CBGB OMFUG (Country Blue Grass Blues and Other Music for Uplifting Gormandizers) was back, we were incredibly excited. To be honest how could we not be? CBGB was a platform to some of the greatest musicians including: Pattie Smith Group, Blondie, The Ramones, Misfits, Green Day, Guns N’ Roses and many more. However, our happiness quickly subsided when we learned that our beloved CBGB was being turned into a restaurant…in Newark…Newark Airport.

Yes you read that correctly, CBGB is back as a family restaurant at a Newark Airport terminal. This time CBGB OMFUG will be known as CBGB LAB (Country Blue Grass Blues Lounge And Bar). And instead of awesome music they’ll be serving crappy foods like deviled eggs, disco fries and hot wings. The only thing that saves us from this sad moment, is the fact that they opened it in Jersey!

For those of you who never got the chance to experience the original CBGB OMFUG, check out the pictures below!
