Chelsea Market NYC
75 9th Avenue (16th street)
Manhattan, NY 10011
Chelsea Market is an enormous shopping mall and food hall that spans the entire city block of 9th and 10th Avenues between 15th and 16th Streets. Within the expansive walls comprised of exposed brick, wood and impossibly tall ceilings, visitors are bombarded with more temptations than Valhalla. Sample sales? Check. The aroma of delicious food wafting from a seemingly endless line of restaurants? Check. Stores selling items you never knew had entire stores devoted to them? Check. All these things and so much more are available at this quasi-mall!
Fun fact: the building complex used to be the home of National Biscuit Company’s factory. So yes, this means you’re literally walking through the hallowed halls that birthed the famous Oreo. There are office spaces also contained within Chelsea Market, providing a home to companies like Oxygen Network, NY1, Google, and a couple of Food Network shows. The gorgeous urban oasis known as the High Line Park passes over Chelsea Market at 10th Avenue.
