Stargazing on the High Line

Let’s face it, summer days in NYC can be gruesome and unsexy. Honestly – what’s so hot about sweaty subway armpits, freezing offices, smelly garbage and hot walk-up apartments? NOTHING!

Thankfully New Yorkers can catch a break as soon as the sun goes down. The cool summer breeze starts to kick in and stars jump out in the night sky, making it the perfect setting for a summer romance. Okay, so maybe it’s hard to see stars through giant buildings but the High Line has you covered! Head to the 14th street entrance and enjoy a night of stargazing through high-powered telescopes, provided by the Amateur Astronomers Association.

Once you’ve taken in the stars, walk along the High Line and enjoy some seasonal treats provided by local food vendors. It’s the perfect summer adventure.

Just a heads up, the event only runs on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 10:30 pm. If it seems cloudy out and you’re unsure if it’s still open, head to the High Line’s twitter account (@highlinenyc) and look for up dates on location and viewing times.
