The Doughnut Project Review
10 Morton Street
New York, NY 10014
Okay, okay, we hear you: ANOTHER doughnut spot, New York?! Really?! Truthfully, we felt the same way. But one peek at The Doughnut Project’s menu and the answer is a resounding YES! I mean a Maple Bacon Bar… Olive Oil Black Pepper (a.k.a. the Bronx)… Electric Pink (a.k.a. “These Beets Are Dope”)… Bone Marrow Chocolate… This is not a random list rant, these are simply the names of some of the actual doughnuts you will find on their out-of-the-box menu.
Our curiosity was peaked and after one bite of the Maple Bacon Bar, we were sold – it is one of the best doughnuts we’ve ever had! That soft doughy texture combined with a crispy smokey strip of bacon could part the heavens! The Olive Oil Black Pepper is perfectly executed and recommended for those of us that like their sweets with a hint of complexity. It’s a damn good doughnut! In fact, they are all damn good doughnuts!
You can find this doughnut Mecca tucked away in the cozy middle of Morton Street. Now we will admit that there are many established options for doughnut lovers in NYC. Venues like Doughnut Plant, Dough and Doughnuttery have been keeping my fellow doughnut junkies very happy… But who would have imagined a little new guy named The Doughnut Project would show up and out do them all with superior taste and creativity?! #yum
