One of the most influential museums of modern art in the world, MoMA has one of the most comprehensive collections of modern Western art in the world including: paintings, drawings, films, electronic media, sculptures, architectural models, photographs, prints and design objects. The museum contains famous paintings such as Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night, along with the work of Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, Metzinger, and Cézanne. The recently renovated building sits between fifth and sixth avenue on 53rd street, and has adopted one of the highest compulsory ticket prices of any museum in the city since it’s 2004 reopening. Tickets start at $14 for students, and go up to $25 for adults, or more if you’d like a tour. Free admission is available after 4pm on Fridays.
